Just a question on what you guys would think of a twin setup on a lifted daily driver square with a 350?
I've always wanted to but couldn't decide if it's worth the time and the debt of doing it for a bit more horsepower
What headers, exhaust, twins, and intake, carb would you guys prefer?
It's just a thought but I would like a bit more of an idea of what it would consist of before thinking any harder on it

A single 88mm turbo'd 6.0LS can make 5-600hp with just an ARP re-fasten, and cam.

forged pistons/rods/crank is the key to making it last.

2 small ones will spool alot faster than 1 big one.
But with 1 big one youll have both manifolds pushing it, so it might even out.
I love Nelson racing's turbo setups, and have been drooling over a setup for my 6.0, i just cant see it making sense to drop 15k on a turbo setup XD.

I've seen borg twins for 2500$
And I'm already wanting to build a 383
So I could be easier to just have a supercharger that turbocharger?

It doesn't matter type of bore/stroke config you want, it's the induction that's the decision. If you're going to run a carburetor, it's much easier to run a roots blower than a blow-through-carb. If you're going to run injection, a centrifugal blower, or turbo is easiest. The stock LS injection/ECU/etc seems to all lend itself to be turbo'd nicely.

I have a turbocharged Subaru Forester in my fleet, and it produces 224 hp and 226 pound-feet of torque for a four cylinder. I could just imagine what a v-8 would do. It would be scary. I would suspect you would break components like transmission, axles, u-joints, etc., unless you ran beefier stuff to compensate for the spike in torque.

Yes I'd swap my axles and build the 400 up and my driveshafts
But I think I may go with the supercharger rather than turbos due to mud or anything it'll be put through

:hmm: Would that include doing away with the lift blocks up front too??? I think I'd be looking for a way to get me some front lift springs and do away with the blocks before I did anything else. JMO

But yes, Turbos are a great way to increase hp and make a streetable truck while not suffering anymore mpg loss. As you know, we need all the help we can get in the mpg area of our not so aerodynamic squares.

IMO, for a truck that needs more low rpm torque, a supercharger would be better. They are always creating boost where as a turbo needs to spool up. GM is using a supercharger and not a turbo on their V8's for a reason.

Yepper !!! Of course either is nice. Just weigh all your costs, ease of installation, space etc etc.

There's not a lot you can't fit into these trucks lol
But I think a supercharger would be better due to installation and room

The turbo LSx **** is getting retarded. This was a quick pick from many on youtube. They have become plug and play for the most part, and using a 6.0 truck motor retain torque peak rpm/etc, converter, etc, just a lot more balls everywhere. A LOT more balls everywhere if you want to go cam/gears, converter, etc and lose the luggability factor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ce_MEJ-j5o
