I've already done all the hard work. I just need to know where to find conversion brackets for the TV cable. I know you can't reuse the turbo 350 cable. But every time I ask the local speed shop they have no idea how to help. Do I need to order the brackets or cable online? If so where? Please help. This is my only transportation and walking to work sucks.

Thanks for the help. But unfortunately I believe I have a post 1985 700r4. It won't shift out of first gear. So I'm assuming I need a computer to tell it to shift.

I thought they didn't need a computer untill they started calling it a 4l60e. If the electric plug is square and has 4 or less wires it should only be for lockup of the converter. If the tv cable is adjusted wrong it won't shift correctly either its not just a kickdown cable like the 350.

No, you don't need an ECM or computer. Do you have a 4L60-E or a 700r4? If it has a TV Cable, it's a 700r4 and you DO NOT need a computer. If it's not coming out of first gear, the TV Valve is probably stuck open telling the trans you're at full throttle, or the governor valve is stuck.

my apologies. ive done some more research. now i know i dont need a computer. ive came to the conclusion that the valve is stuck open. how complicated is it to pull the valve out? knowing my luck everything will not go together the same way or be messed up when i put it back together.

It's possible that your cable has a kink or a burn in it too keeping the TV valve from being able to go back home where it belongs. It's not hard at all to do. Once you pull the trans pan, it's pretty self explanatory how it operates. It's spring loaded to return the valve lever back to where it belongs. You can pretty much tell if your TV valve is stuck out by pulling on the TV cable. If you don't feel the spring tension pulling the valve back in like a plunger, then you know it's stuck full throttle open.
