So I got my transmission out with the help of all of you on here. Then I had to find out what type it was and once again with all yalls help I found out it is a 350 turbo. So now I have one more question. If I get a turbo 350 from a 4x2 vehicle would the the transfer case hook right up to it? Or is there a difference between transmissions on 4x4 vehicles compared to 4x2 vehicles? My chevy is a 4x4 and i keep finding alot of 350 transmissions but all from 4x2 vehicles. So please help me on finishing this project! Thank you all so much for the help and support thus far its saved lots of time and money for me.

Won't bolt right in, 2wd has a long tailshaft, and requires complete disassembly from the front of the trans to swap the shaft. But not impossible to do, just more work than originally thought.

YES. just as they said a complete tear down of a 2wd one to make it a 4wd one.

So find a 4x4 one or rebuild what you have.
