You should at least put a mild drop on it like a 2/4 or something. If the rest is stock and your exhaust is pretty quiet no one will suspect a thing :D Maybe throw on a supercharger??? :naughty:

Or atleast just level the rear with the front.

No symptoms today and I was never even sore anywhere. I'm pretty lucky. That wrecker was repositioning itself while I tookthose pics, turned out that another wrecker backed up to the rear of the truck and towed it with the front tires on the ground.

My next truck will be either that black extended cab or a black crewcab. Not going to do any exterior mods whatsoever. No lowering no debadging no hid headlights no nothing. I have everything I need to completely beef up the trans including the 3800 stall converter. So that will be done very soon after I get the truck. Then I'll get a big cam and springs soon after. Since the engine will be low miles I won't need to replace the oil pump or litters or anything else like I would have on the 01. I'm also considering buying a bigger motor to cam.

Basically it's going to be a sleeper. Completely stock on the outside except for window tint and the gauge pods you'll see thru the window.

I'm loving the **** out of this idea!

All valid points. I think you just convinced me on 2wd

I did the same thing once. I bought a 2002 Z71 4x4 Avalanche. When the 2003's hit without the ugly body hardware, I decided I wanted one. I got to thinking, I could save $3000 by not getting 4x4, lower insurance and save a bit of fuel. Then when I looked underneath the 2, I realized the 2x4 would be much easier to work on. It was sure quite a bit more spunky than the 4x4 too and both had the same gear ratio's, engines and transmissions, so I contributed the better performace to be non 4x4 and bought the Z66 instead of the Z71. The Z66 ended up being my all time favorite truck and I had it for 50,000 miles before I traded it in where as most of my vehicle never seen over 20-25,000 before I traded them in. Be sure to post up pics of what you get and have your name changed on here to match the new ride. :High 5: :roflbow:

I understand...I love my 85 and get a lot of looks but my heart is in a modern hot rod truck. Lately I've been driving the 85 everyday and it's fun. I thought about a diesel but it's really not my style...yet anyways.

Today I went and looks at that beautiful 07 extended cab black truck I showed y'all...got some door dings, tires are in terrible shape and the seats have a few stains. No big deal, but they want $21k for it. That's just too much for me on a 4 year old truck. Maybe they'll come down some when I get serious and am ready to jump on it.

On the other hand, a close friend wants to sell me his truck. 06, black, 102,000 miles, not one blemish and paint looks new. Chevy 20's, brand new tires, in dash $1000 dollar screen, subs and amp and all that included. Custom leather with chevy emblem stitched in. 5.3, 4l60e, etc. hid headlighs...this truck is beautiful. I could throw all my trans parts in it, and cam it and voila, super nice truck. Only thing is he wants $17,200. For a 5 yr old truck with 100,000 miles, even with what he's done to it I'd like it more around 15k.

Here's pics.

$21K for the 07? I agree, tell them to lick your sack !!! You're buddys deal seems like a nice truck, but yeah, I agree, just a bit steep for that mileage no matter what he's done to it. $15K would probably be a deal you both could live with. Good Luck with the shopping.

You'll miss the truck, but be thankful you're around to miss it, and not resting in pieces yourself. :High 5:

That sounds like a fair deal. Have you expressed any interest in buying it back? If they are giving you $11,500, you should be able to buy it back for $1150. If all your adds, like stereo system, screen etc are worth that and still functional and transferable to another trucks. If the LS motor and harnesses are still good, I'd be thinking LS conversion in the Square. Lots of good parts. Scrap or sell the rest.

No stereo equip in the 01, I'm letting it go. Dont even want the trouble. They used NADA, and said the base value of the truck was $10,500. Hell blue book value was $9,900 so i figured I'd get maybe 7. They gave me 500 for the low miles, 100 for wheels, -50 for he tear in the seat, etc. Came out to $11,501. After they took the $500 deductible out.

I'm Buying the 06 chevy posted above. Probably putting 8k down. As soon as I get I the trans is coming out and getting built with my parts...cam and bolt one will follow.
