hello i need help with my 82 k2500 im doing the rear brakes everything is new 13in brakes. i bought the drums from napa part number 440-1225 but they do not go on the hub as far as the old ones did. and after torquing the tires on they will not spin. i thought they were hitting the backing plate so i shimed the back of the drum with washers tried again and still the tires would not turn i am beggining to think i have the wrong drums but it was the only ones napa called out on there website. is the drum width off? the napa ones are 5.1 high i think i need the 4.95 high ones but am not sure? has anyone else ran into this? thankyou in advance for any info puttin the new and old drum side by side they look real close except where the backing plate lip is it is much lower on the old vs new one making me think that the backing plate was hitting but now i dont think it is

Havent ran into that exact issue however NAPA buys parts from all over the world. Even 2 wheel cylinders, ball joints or tie rods, purchased at the same time may come from entirely different country and not appear the same. If the old drums are not causing the issue take the NAPA drums back and buy somewhere else.

Is this a full float axle or a semi-float axle? I'm assuming semi-float?

Put your old drums back on. Does the problem go away? Compare the drums real well. No, compare your old shoes to your new shoes.

Hello thankyou for the replies. Yes it is a semi float and I did put the old drum on with no problems upon doing some wire wheeling to the old drum I found the gm number searched it and confirmed these are 4 5/8 wide so I will get some on rock auto and be good to go thankyou again and fast 99 you are absolutely right about the napa parts I was in shock when I started ordering stuff off rock auto for half the price if not more then napas and the brake lines were the same brand sunsong brand in this case. Napa is convenient if they have it in stock and you dont want to wait however thou thankyou again
