Well actually I discovered that Walmart sells a tire caled the powerking and is a 16.5 inch. It looks like a vintage tire and its pretty cool. Its only 100 bucks too and is a highway tire. Idk so that and the Transforce are the only 16.5 inch Tires I know of in production. Correct me if Im wrong because I'd like to know if there's more.

I think you've seen it all when it comes to 16.5 tire choices. That's why people switch to 16 inch wheels, that opens up a lot more choices. There's still enough 16.5 rims out there, so there should be 16.5 tires available for a long time, but as you've found the choices are limited. Whichever route you go, post up some photos of the new shoes on your truck.

I'd like to point out, that 16.5's with the safety bead DO still have the wheel lip at about a 45° angle like a standard 16.5 rim. I don't remember the actual angle of the bead, that's just a ballpark guess.

I've run Powerking truck and trailer tires, I think they are great tire for what they are. Keep in mind, a bias ply truck tire serves a different purpose than a radial truck tire.

I will! And I might sand down the rims and repaint them too, And I'll polish the hubcaps because I think all that will really make the truck look a lot better.

I bought the last set of 33x12.50x16.5 in the country apparently from Pepboys, not looking forward to getting rims and tires next time around.

BF Goodrich AT KO, Dakotas sold out some time ago also. It seems like BFG didnt makes 16.5 in the new KO2 style.

@thecantaloupeman on my K-20 they fit fine. The largest I've had on it were 38s where they rubbed on the fenders in the front.

I just hope Firestone continues to make that Transforce in 16.5 for a while. It's a great looking tire especially for vintage trucks and I think it would be a smart business decision for them to keep it around just for guys like us who need that specialized size to keep our trucks original. They could have a monopoly on 16.5 inch tires haha.

I've had 8 square bodies over the years and 16.5" have always been my go to wheels for them. My K30 is the first time I went to something else; 16's in this case. I did this mainly to source tires easier and cheaper. I think Super Swamper is the only company that offers a 33" tire for a 16.5" rim. I didn't want to spend over $300 a tire or have a super aggressive mud terrain tire. My K30 has LT305/70R16's on a 16x10" wheel.

Below are 2 of my past 2WD trucks with 33's. They do fit, but you'll have to trim the front fenders a little. The '85 did not have a lift. When I sold it, I transferred the tire combination to the '80 3+3. That truck got a 2" rear lift block and helper air bags in the front coils.

I had my front leaf springs re-arched and had a leaf added in. That's probably the reason why I didn't have to trim the fenders.

When my stock 86 C20( 8600 GVWR, C6P optioned) trucks stock 235/85/16 were just about worn out, i found a set of take off tires/wheels at Les Schwab.......Dodge steel wheels with 10 ply Michelin ATS, 265/75/17........Probably an inch wider than the factory 235's, and almost identical height........No clearance issues, even with a full ton of hay in the bed
