The aesthetics of the top itself are lousy.

Oh, lol. If it was just plain crappy, I was going to dig up pictures of one I used to have. It was way crappy and way ugly. But it drove great, was peppy and had cold AC!

Same as the 87 i had, it was named the tan turd. Old tech 4. I loved that truck but she met a crappy end

Mine was only 400 bucks, with a 4.3 and an auto. I bought it just for the rust free bed that was on it. I drove it for a couple months, then swapped the bed for a rusty one from my other S10, and sold it for $500. All in all, it was a good time and a good deal.

I paid $400 for mine too. Drove it home with no breaks. Put a set of fat tires on monte carlo wheels on it and cruised it like i was cool lol it was two tone tan and maroon. Reg cab short bed 2wd. A tree dead center of the nose at 40 mph killed it. Theres a pic in my media of if on the car dolly goin to the junkyard hooked to my suburban.
