Hey guys! Bought. This 76 k10 over 2 years ago and other than a tune up,carb rebuild, and a few u joints ive just been driving it daily. I recently bought a 78 parts truck that has a 4"lift new hood, fenders, doors, nice seat and a 14 bolt ff. My 203 tc is making a poping sound under load. 2wd is fine. I'm assuming chain is stretched. Parts truck has a 208 tc and same 350 tranny. Can I just swap them out. Or are the splines different? Thank for any input.

It should swap in besides driveshafts but if you use the parts truck shaft provided that it's the same body such as long bed and what not. You will Ned the shifter form the diner too.

I'm not sure on that one. That's a @HotRodPC question. Ibwouldnt think that they would be different. Oh wait the 208 has a flange for the front shaft and a 203 is a yolk style if I'm not mistaken.

You will have to mod the front shaft. You will also have to use the Th350 with the NP208 due to output shaft length difference. The NP203 output shaft is very short, like a stub, so the shaft on the NP203 unit won't reach all the way through the adapter into the NP208 splines.

Now that I think about it, that shaft might work, because of a longer slip yoke. The older shaft doesn't have the double cardan joint right? So it has longer slip yoke IIRC. You'd have to ask someone to measure and get pics of the flanges for you that has an NP203. And I get confused with NP205's and NP203's too. But I'm certain on the output length on the Th350 trans.

Yes, the trans may be the same, but the one with the 208 bolted to it has a longer output shaft.
