any update photos on the carpet chosen?
No. I ended up holding off on the carpet purchase. Some other expenses lowered this on the priority list. I still plan to do it eventually, but I am cash-poor for car projects at the moment.

Well, OP seems to have disappeared. But, I’m a bit confused because I see ACC and also OC as suppliers.

I live in Alabama. ACC is an AL company. I went to there main office in the early 90’s and purchased a carpet for. Third gen F body. The quality was far better than the OEM stuff, backing and all was thick!!!

I will be taking the hour drive to their facility in Oxford AL to purchase new carpet for the driver/rear seat area of my 87 Burb, when I get to that point. Their stuff is top notch for sure. I think the kill mat is a needed step in one of these old Burbs, so wouldn’t be as concerned about the mass backing if doing so- but I am interested to see a comparison between the two- not sure they had two options back in the 90’s when I last purchased, there was no sound deadened like kill mat back then!

Kinda weird. I installed new ACC carpet in a 3rd Gen Firebird back in '03 or so, I thought the factory carpet was far superior in quality. Much thicker, heavier and tougher than the ACC carpet.

I am still here. As I mentioned in the post above yours, I have paused the suburban interior project due to funds availability.

I am currently in the middle of an ACC carpet install. Let me preface the rest of what I'm going to say by letting everyone know this is the first time I have ever installed auto carpet..

I purchased the Essex without the mass backing and have applied Kilmat to the entire floor area. The Essex carpet has a pretty thick platic-ish backing to it and I'm having problems with the bolt hole lining up/too short upon trying to install the seat brackets/seat belts. My suspicion is that with the increased thickness of the Essex carpet and Kilmat it's throwing the geometry of the bolt holes off of anything that isn't secured to a COMPLETELY flat spot. I found myself having to go get a few longer bolts for the front bench seat..

As I mentioned I'm in the middle of the installation because it doesn't seem to fit very well once you line up the molds for the center portions. The outside edges are short, probably too short for the trim pieces to cover. The cargo section spare cutout is completely off so when I cut it to fit, the edging is going to get messed up. The biggest issue I'm having is I can't get the center hump to lie flat up by the dash.

Once again, I am by no means an expert on carpet installs but after all the rave reviews online/you tube I would have expected it to fit better. I suspect the truck kits fit good but the Burb sets are hit and miss...
