Hey guys,

I replaced my gearbox on my truck, which solved the loose steering, but I noticed my steering wheel is off 90 degrees. The truck drives straight, actually better than it did before thanks to the new to truck gearbox, but the wheel is driving me nuts, for obvious reasons.

What's the secret to fixing this? Is there something I installed incorrectly? The replacement gearbox came with a pitman arm, so I didn't disconnect it. Do those go on multiple ways?

Problem fixed, mistake made with the rag joint. Rotated 90 degrees and boom.

Was about to suggest the rag or drag link. Glad you fixed it.
What steering box did you use? I need to replace the one in my k5. It's leaking and a little sloppy.

I bought one from redhead steering gears but it will be a little bit before the truck is running so I can't tell you how well it works.

I got one from a local salvage yard. It came from a 1986 2wd square body. I couldn't afford a replacement from the parts stores. The price would actually be more than I paid for the truck, or close to it lol.

Can you go in to more detail as to how you did that?

Not really anything to go in to. Was an idiot mistake. I had the coupler on the steering gear shaft at the incorrect position
