speedometer wire

When I was working on putting in the new transmission I pulled the speedometer wire and found out I pulled it out. But now I have no idea were it goes. I have the end that goes into the transfer case fine. I just cant find were the other end goes, pictures would be great help thanks all

Do you mean the speedometer cable - the one that has an outer casing and an inner cable that rotates and drives the speedometer in the dash?

Or are you talking about some electrical wire - like the one that goes to the 4WD indicator?

If it's the speedometer cable you are asking about - the other end goes in the back of the speedometer.

If it's an electrical lead, you might have to be more specific.

It is the cable. What is the easiest way of getting it back in there

Some powdered graphite in the cable housing and on the cable itself and shove it back thru. Now if you pulled the whole cable and housing and all back out, there is a hole in the firewall about where a clutch pedal would come thru and the cable goes back in there, in the vacinity of the fuse block.
