I bought my 81 K10 a few months ago. I love it. I grew up learning how to drive in a 1978. I have been turning it into a daily driver. Yesterday on the way home from work my clutch went soft. It's still shifting but, it's going strait to the floor in order to get it in and out of gear. Any help on what that would be before I try Youtube?

I'd start by adjusting the clutch push rod out a little.
If that doesn't help, either the disc and/or the pressure plate could be worn out.

does the 81 have a hydraulic clutch?
my 85 k20 super double xtra heavy duty does.

if so, the usual suspects, low fluid, softened lines.

good luck!

Thank you. No sir. 81 does not. I ended up replacing the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing today. It had to be one of those three because the problem went away.
