smaller tires for more speed or vice versa

would a truck be faster with smaller tires or larger tires. Reason im asking the smaller tires are cheaper and i got some redneck set up on my ton right now.
215/85/16 on the front and 235/85/16 on the back.

Smaller tired will make your speedometer read faster than you're actually going. If that makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy then WOOHOO

Smaller tires would increase your 1/8 mile speed letting your truck get going quicker but your top speed would be reduced. Taller tires moves your top speed higher but you might be slower getting up to it.

Last I checked, it's getting much harder to find a good 235/85/16 tire. A good replacement for that in a modern size is 265/75/16 (I wish I would have went with those myself). If you want to go a little taller for more road speed, you can run a 255/85/16 and they shouldn't rub on the rear.

taller is for more speed, like a lower numeric gear ratio, and harder to get up to speed/longer.

shorter tire or "taller" gears higher numerically, quicker 1/8 or 1/4 mile times, faster getting up to speed, reduced mph's though.

He is looking for taller tire. He has 4.10's and wants more top end, and with 4.10's he can move taller tire just fine. If it's not OEM tires size, it'll throw your speedo off a bit and then you're moving a bit faster than your speedo says.
