Can only go by the numbers put out. 310hp and 430lb-ft torque. Tow rated at 9500lbs. I don't haul much and only occasionally to a trailer. If I need to tow heaver, I will use the 85 C20.
You must mean just heavier as in tongue weight. Because power and gears, that new 4 banger will pull over double of an old 305 Chebbie motor with a 3 or 4 speed trans, apples to apples.

Many reasons... i want my truck to look like a truck, not a car. I dont use it like a car. Any AT ive ever had were junk and wouldnt go anywhere. My one legger is driven all year long with muds and has never left me stuck. I got all 4 bfg muds like new for 300 bucks. And a lunch box locker is on my list next but life has taken the cash to other more important places. Just like my extreme hatred for good year....

Here's my daily, got new rear tires on it yesterday to replace the almost 10 year old and dry rotting michelins. They were on the truck when I got it in July '22 but didn't know they were that old; had a hand long crack between the treads....
No problem with em till Friday morning...blew out when I was backing out of the space to leave for work. Then the used spare tire had a slow leak too....

93 Ford Festiva. 110 hp Mazda engine + the go fast mods in a 63hp car. Ford aspire rear axle beam, brakes, and struts,Kia Rio front Suspension and brakes.Rio Wheels all 4 corners. It's a lot of fun to drive, mostly because it gets picked on and then someone gets a surprise. And I still get enjoy 37 mpg and it still has AC. Hmm just did some mental math the horsepower is about doubled but mpg stayed at around 75% thats not a bad trade off. Edit I just remembered Leno has a Festiva Shogun

There's a guy in PA that has a wagon with a twin turbo'd Vette motor. Once posted a video of his friend pacing him on a bike - his speedo read 168mph and the wagon was pulling away. I guess a good wreck at almost 200mph will show just how safe they are.

And as a follow up, it’s good that rental companies don’t keep a data base of who “not” to rent to because I would have my name in bold on that list! Aside from past off roading to burning the tires off sports cars to oopsies that got repaired, returned and not caught, this truck almost ended up part of the Pacific Ocean if not for this group of nice guys that saved our @sses when we got into mud….on a beach….below high tide….
About 10-12 years ago, my dad rented a Ram 1500 ECSB with the Hemi/8-speed/4x4, thing even had 3.92 gears in it, for us to take from Ga up to Charlotte, NC for a family reunion weekend. After we picked it up, we stopped at a gas station about 10mi away to fuel up and he went to check the oil for good measure. Nice truck

Apparently somebody'd had a helluva time offroad and didn't even bother to rinse it just the least little bit. I bet they never even looked under it when it got turned back in

Hahaha!!
At least I dropped $10AUS at the car wash and cleaned all the mud off!
But did you burn the tires off the truck? I lucked into a Hemi Ram rental in Chicago a few years ago going to watch my son play hockey.
All our old college friends there. We put 40k miles of burnouts on those back tires in 2 days. Had to wash the rubber out of the wheel wells. It was so bad I almost rotated them to the front so I wouldn’t get blamed for balding the tires!
That rental looks identical to my younger son’s truck. It had the silver wheels on it, grampa truck.
