Sheetmetal Compatibility

I have the opportunity to purchase two used doors from an 1986 c10. Will they fit a 1976 K10? Other than the front clip, is the other sheet metal compatible between the two years?

Also, has anyone converted the passenger side round hole gas filler to the square door? What would be needed for that conversion?

The doors are all the same, and the sheet metal is compatible minus the front clip so you should be good. That's the extent of my knowledge. Well, I do know that to do that conversion you'll need the newer style filler neck and cap. As far as metalwork goes, I'll leave that to a more adept member.

Doors are not the same. 73-76 are raised or "bumped" out on the inside where the door panel mounts. 77-87 are all the same. Although the outsides are the same.

For those that don't know, reason for door change is 77 is the first year for power windows and needed redesigning a bit.
