Well I'm stumped. I bought 76 c10 2wd and eventually found out that the front rotors, in terrible shape, have a smaller than the 5x5 pattern that should be on there, and only have roughly an 11" diameter instead of what I'm assuming is supposed to be about 12 . So then went to the junkyard to find the correct ones that are still 1" thick to fit inside the caliper, and all were in that 12" range and it turns out they actually rub on my caliper mounts like they're too large. The question is, what could possibly be going on here and what are my options?

Get calipers and mounts from the same truck you got the bigger rotors from? Make sure the spindles are the same lengths and such.

Not a bad idea I'll try that. I believe the old ones had a 4 3/4 pattern. Any ideas on why there would be this "smaller" set up on?

I have no idea. 71-91 trucks all used 5x127mm or 5.5"? Idk I'm not a conversion wizard. Now some of the older stuff had a 5x120mm but that wasn't small enough to make 4 3/4" There were some cars in the 80s that used 5x100mm. Possible? Whatever it is it isn't what that truck is supposed to have. Possible someone had drums and wanted cheap discs and had parts laying around or another vehicle? Does your pedal pad say "Disc brakes"?

Or the PO may have wanted to use some wheels that had the 4.75 patter instead of the 5".

So what are the chances that the control arms and surrounding objects have been swapped out as well? And is there a way to tell before disassembling everything?

If you post some pics with wheels off we can tell you if they're stock or not

I ended up going back to the junkyard and pulling the knuckles off of that truck and tried installing them into mine and they don't match in there at all. The tabs that stop you from turning too far on the lower control arm keep it from turning one way at all. My truck has been lowered quite a bit if that helps anything

Sounds like you may have a whole different front clip from all these issues.

Ya that's exactly what it is which makes no sense to me especially because the rear is still the 5x5 pattern. If I just wanted to get my wheels to fit up front with the 5x5 how reliable are those lug pattern adapters?

I know people running them daily with no issues, obviously there is a minimum amount that they are going to shim out your wheel but, I'm not sure what that measurement is, something like 5/8" or 3/4" or some ****. Don't cheap out if you go that route, buy some quality adapters and you should be alright.
