This may be a dumb question but what is the diff between 1.5 and 1.6. Askin for a 906 vortec on a 400 sbc build

It's the rocker's ratio. A 1.6 ratio rocker will give you a little more valve lift with the same cam than a 1.5 ratio rocker would. It's basically a multiplier.

I think most cam manufacturer's give the cam's lift into with a 1.5 ratio rocker. So say your cam lobe has 0.300" of lift. You would multiply that by 1.5 to get how much valve lift you would get.

0.300 x 1.5 = 0.450" of lift.

You have to watch your valve springs when talking about rocker ratio. To much will cause spring bind, and they will be contacting eachother coil on compression.

Im thinking of running the beehive springs but not totally sure. Just trying to get all my info down so i can start buying and assembling my motor.
