Hey there so this is my second 2wd 2500 suburban and I was wondering why my 1990 sits lower than my 1980 2500. Both are stock and haven’t had any suspension modifications just general maintenance. Neither have had the leaf springs or coil springs replaced to my knowledge. Was this just a thing gm did I the later years to improve ride quality?

The more desperate they are for fuel mileage the lower they get.

Yeah I didn’t think of that. Get it lower to the ground and get air going over the top of the truck instead of under it

Could be that the 90 did more towing before you got it and the springs are more worn out.

my '87 V10 suburban (4x4 1/2 ton) looked like a damn station wagon when I got it, that's even how they were marketed at that time

Your '90 may have the light duty springs.

What is the GVWR for each one. Not all 2500 are the same. A higher GVWR is usually accompanied by more springs in the pack and heavier weight springs.
