richmond gear how to tell ratio

ok little confusion. ring gear is 42 and pinion is 11. i got 3.81 would that make it 383s?

Possibly a mis-count. 41-11 is 3.73. And just incase you mis-counted both 41-10 would be 4.10 or aka 4.11.

Possibly a mis-count. 41-11 is 3.73. And just incase you mis-counted both 41-10 would be 4.10 or aka 4.11.

Yeah, you miscounted. 4.10 is the most common. I'd say its 41 and 10 which is 4.10. The 4.11's are a different tooth count and usually in smaller rear ends. Some trucks do go 4.11 but usually passenger car 10 and 12 bolts are 4.11's all being, they are pretty much the same ratio. The .01 isn't enough to make a rats ass or even a nats ass for that matter.
