Hi Guys,

What's the best way to depressurize the fuel pressure on my '84 C10 so I can replace my in-line fuel filter?

Thanks!

There's no pressure on it, unless it's mounted after the fuel pump and the engine is running. Your good to go, just remove it.

really? Mines not in the carb, its on the passenger side frame rail - I thought these type of filters had to be depressurized before removing?

No pressure because there's no electric fuel pump, the engine mounted pump is just sucking fuel through the filter. It really doesn't matter anyhow, you simply unhook the lines from a pressurized system too. Pressure bleeds off a bit after sitting a couple minutes and you just remove the first line slowly to be safe.

Depressurizing the fuel system first is just what the manuals tell you to do so they can't get sued. Just like you are supposed to wear safety glasses for simple tasks like changing a headlight or even turning a screwdriver.
