A few weeks ago I had my k20's rear carrier bearing support snap from what I assumed was a seized bearing. I got the replacement part and discovered someone put a one ton driveshaft in my truck sometime in the past. This was probably because it was 2wd, but someone converted it to a 4x4 with a 205. Anyway I replaced the carrier bearing, but it wouldnt spin. The metal bearing will only spin inside the rubber isolator, and began to melt the isolator. I had to cut the old bearing off with a torch and marred the driveshaft a little bit, but I was able to file it down pretty smooth so i figured the inner sleeve of the bearing would slide on with little difficulty. And now I cant get the bearing back off. Any ideas of what to do? I dont want to have to ruin another $35 bearing.

Chill the shaft and heat the bearing and see if that loosens it up.
