I have been debating this issue. I want a new radio and hate to cut the dash. Not many options for radios tho to go back in the stock location. What To Do.....

If it looks stock, it must be really old. My '79 came with an ancient looking AM/FM Cassette that didn't work right and the tuner scroll thing had come apart inside. I was able to take it apart, figure out what's wrong, fix it, bench test it, put it back together and install it... and I know squat about electronics. That old radio was very mechanical.

I still think FTW, Jake Wells had the best idea for stereo's. One downfall to it, NO STATION PRESETS. That doesn't bother me though. I have 2 stations I listen to locally. But for $35, you'd hope a thief isn't interested in it. It has pre outs for an amp, and it has a Jack for listening to your MP3 player. Cheap and very effective. Add your hidden amp, and listen to all your favorite music on your MP3, not have to butcher your dash, little fear of it being stolen and only $35. How can you go wrong???

That's good to know info too. I"m wanting to do away with windshield antenna I think and I was wondering where a good place to put it would be. I'd rather use an OE spot. I might even look for an OE antenna off a later model Burb next time I got to PullAPart.

It's also the same antenna used on the Celebrity and 6000.

I have no gripes with the windshield antenna, they seem to work well even if the window is cracked right through it.

I would get a small rubber antenna($9) and stick it under the dash till you get a widshield antenna.

And then grab the wind buffeting mast off a 1995+ S10.
