Not exactly sure I follow - I thought these were held in place by screws on the front edges and metal spring clips on the upper side - ?

I think I'd go with the replacement dash rather than a cap. Think you'd be happier with it but, maybe that's just me. Maybe someone that bought and installed a cap will chime in. I need a new one and I'll be going with the replacement dash rather than a cap. Jmo but, good luck.
