Right on, thank you for that. I may have a piece of aluminum in my shop that will work. May take a couple of weeks to get back up to the truck but I'll post up results when done.
Any thoughts on the stock air cleaner assembly working on this carb?

when I was looking a few months ago, I noticed there was a couple rebuild places typed of here, and I clicked on one in Arizona.
(like takes your core, and gives you a fixed OEM off the rack)
..

carb doc,...or national carbs ???? is what I find in my search history..
.but I may have been on another browser when I found the one in Arizona....(I had read about it on here though)

glad I got mine solved though. (loose vacuum line and wires,...from the previous owner's paid mechanic....= ran down the road OK, just stuck on a faster idle and typically unable to kick down,....with the stupid "choke' light popping on and off). mine was a rebuilt Rochester bought at Autozone/ Advance....1 or 2 owners ago.

It won't work as is the air cleaner base is completely different. And not even the same amongst all the carbs you listed. When you get the carb get me a good overhead shot. I'll tell you your options. It's very possible that you can cut an adapter.

I called a few carburetor shops around me and no go on the exchange. They were all around $260-325 or so to rebuild. New/rebuilt Rochester from the parts store was over $600.

If you are going to roll the dice on a Chineese carb, and make an adaptor, why wouldn't you adaptor a monjet which these trucks came with new until 1979. Linkage air cleaner jetting etc would be known and available.

I have one of those new on the shelf. If that single barrel will work I'll make an adaptor for it and find an air cleaner.

Yea same process making the adapter, with one possible deviation, you may need to make 2 plates stacked with that carb and adapter I don't you'll even need to do counter sinks. Just straight holes. Bottom plate drill both throttle bores, saw across the 2 to create a big oval. Center your 1bbl over the oval, drill your throttle bore and mounting holes. Make mockup plates out of cardboard, plywood,is first. To spot any difficulties. I have not done a monojet on anything. You may end up needing just a flat plate on the manifold with a single centered hole and possibly another smaller plate just space the monojet up for linkage clearance. IDK

Yeah, that sounds like the way to go for what i want out of this truck for now. So for throttle linkage and air cleaner, 1973 to 1978 C10 with single bbl carb. Is there another vehicles to source these from?
