This thread is like a sasquatch...reported sightings, but no pics. I too am interested, but not willing to throw money at parts that wont work. I know someone out there has done this already.

Lol, same here, my only hold up is the rear brake lines and whether or not I can go without a proportioning valve. I checked at my part time job and all the prices are about right for the 99 to 2000 awd astro van setup. With my discount it's rreally worth it to upgrade vs drums, etc

I don't think he was saying he knows someone personally, but that he knows it's been done somewhere. Lol

i've been reading other forums and i think alot of people are using lt1 calipers with 94-96 impala rotors. Lt1 caliper have built in ebrake, so it should work with stock

I might have missed it scrolling through, but I don't think anyone threw up a link for the 8 lug folks. Complete kits that won't break the bank.

You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the caliper brackets would be great
I haven't seen any write ups on this so I thought I would pass some info along to everyone. If you are wanting to put rear disc brakes on your truck this is the cheapest way I have found to do it while using new parts. From 1999-2001 chevy offered the astro in a awd. The front rotors on it just slide over the wheel studs. The bolt pattern on the van is the 5x5. If you go to oreily auto parts you can pick up a new set of these rotors for $35 a piece, the calipers for the van run you $11 a piece and you can pick up a set if caliper brackets off of speedway motors for $11 a piece. Which brings your total to a whopping $114. Which I thought was a hell of a deal when you compare it to a kit from other places that usually start out at around $500. Hope this will be help to some people.

I am in the process of starting to do the rear disc brake conversion. I an using 94-96 Impala SS drilled and slotted rotors, calipers, and rear brake lines for the Impala as a direct fit without using any adapters. I am on another site where there's a guy that makes the caliper brackets to bolt right on to the rear. I also have 95 Impala SS slotted and drilled rotors on the front as well.
