Not sure I understand the question. NP203 has only 1 shifter but 2 shift rods. Are you referring to how it is hooked up or has it been twin-sticked? Might need pics and some more description of what you're doing.

Don't mean to sound dumb, but doesn't a 203 already have a part time kit in it? The 205 was full time, or do I have that backwards?

Lil backward there Mr Clean. 203's are the chain driven full time cases whereas the 205's are gear driven part time.

Gonna ask the obvious question.... You dont have a manual trans do you?

If not, one stick will control L-N-H gear selections, the other one controls loc-unloc.

Original shift pattern for a 203 is

Low-loc

NP203 = Full Time
NP205 = Part Time/Selectable

NP203 has 1 shift lever unless it was twin sticked. In which case one stick will control the locking mode and the other stick controls the shift mode.

There are two types of part time kits for the NP203. First kit is the entire assembly which is no longer made or the cheaper alternative which just a bunch of slugs and makes it part time.

The cheaper alternative has caveats that you need to be absolutely aware of.

It has been 2sticked, and the way I understand it the conversion is "basically" a shaft, I think. Here is a question, for someone way more knowledgeable than I, shifter near the driver. 2w toward front, 4w toward seat. Shifter passenger low toward front, high toward seat? And if so, where is loc? I am frustrated... And I apologize for my ignorance, thanks for ANY help

I just explained to you how the two sticks work.

Just since I'll be a nice guy and do some googling..
