The vortec heads will need different jets and possibly metering rods

I suspected that. It will have to be part of the discussion. I can pop the top and change them when the heads go on

What ever happened to the $20 dollar carb kits there now $60 plus I have switched to edlebrock carter carbs the jury is still out on that. but most around here love them it may be a area thing. but they seem a lot simpler. I used to have great luck just cleaning quadra flush carbs untill recently the 6 I have (various years) seem to clog up a lot faster then they used to. I doubt this E85 gas has a lot to do with it but I could be wrong. filters changed yearly if not more. maybe mine are just to warn for the damn E85 gas.
