My understanding of these 8.1 & 8.8, is there are NOT a lot of after market parts out there for them and what is out there is expensive. I understand there is one company that does make parts for them, supposedly they are reliable engines, but getting aftermarket parts can be an issue. This coming from my friend who works at a restoration shop and does a lot of engine swaps he told me they just avoid anything with 8.1/8.8 or they use the old Gen blocks
