Power steering belt routing

So i got a new motor in truck and I'm not sure how the power steering belt goes
Does it go from the balancer straight to the power steering pump or from balancer around water pump around power steering pump.
They look like they both work so I'm a little confused

Goes around all three pullies.

Maybe just my eyeline, but is that power steering pump alignment out? Looks kicked out on the bolt closest to the water pump.

It fits either way, but the longer belt is/was part of the HD cooling option on my truck.

If you use the longer belt, but happen to have your alternator belt break, the PS belt will still be turning the water pump and cooling the engine. If you use the shorter PS belt and have an alternator belt break, the water pump will stop.

Based on my experience, if the water pump stops turning you will have about 2 minutes on the highway before your temp gauge heads toward the max. I had my truck into the shop once and they left the door open and ran the battery down. As I hit the highway the alternator kicked in and went to full charge, which made the alternator belt slip and break. I now use the longer PS belt, and always carry an extra alternator belt just in case.
