Pics. What transmission do you have and what did you order your dipstick tube to fit. Isn't yours th350? It should have a single mounting tab that bolts to the second bellhousing bolt from the bottom on the passenger side. Did pioneer really not get that tab in the right spot?

The Pioneer one was such a piece of crap I tossed it. I found a different brand, Dorman maybe, that was a bit better but I had to cut the tab off and make a mounting tab that actually fit.

Yeah the mounting tab wasnt in the same location. It had a Z bracket that i mounted to the back of the block on the passenger side then the Z bracket mounted to the actual bracket on the tube. The threads at the top of the block on the passenger side were already there. I has to bend their brackets alittle for it to fit properly.

It was a pita to get mounted but it is sturdy. With the aftermarket support these trucks have, i am someone hasn’t made a replica of the oem.

Even replacement oil dipstick tubes are trash.

Wow that's unbelievable that they didn't get that right considering how freaking common that tube is.

I always just use oem from the bone yards. I just think it's amazing that no one can make a decent aftermarket one. Although I do have to say I bought a car with a chrome dipstick tube I assumed it was a mr gasket. The mounting tab was right, and I don't remember any issues with it.

Do you only need the stick, or do you need the tube too. I may have the right stick.

Mine seems to have the wrong transmission in it. But as far as the dipstick goes, I haven't had any issues with the summit branded locking ones. I've used for this powerglide or the one for the Th350 that was in the truck when I bought it. Someone smashed what I assume was the stock one and the summit branded locking dipstick I put in had no issues. Both bolted on at the middle passenger side bellhousing bolt and both read correctly.

I went to 4 pull-a-parts in my state and they were picked clean. I did spend too much money on a couple 90s model chevy dipsticks because they were similar and length and i was going to see if one of them would work. When i got home, i did not think it was worth the trouble so i just finessed the brand new pioneer on. Now i have 3 other random chevy trans sticks and my old tube on the shelf.

My oem stick broke but my tube was good.

we will see if the pioneer reads proper.. looking at it in the pan, it looks okay. If i have issues in the future, i will buy a lokar.
