Why not just leave the 454 in the C20 and stick the 455 in the 4x4?

2 reasons, #1, The Th350 isn't going to stand up well to the Olds 455. It's a 70 model 455 with higher compression, much bigger ported heads that will breathe great. I really expect the 455 to have some ponies and mega torque, so it needs to be in front of a Th400. #2, the motor pads for Olds motor to fit in a square came out of a 2wd truck, and I intend to use those OEM motor pads to the frame to also use OEM motor mounts. The 80 GMC I had, was OEM Olds 350 Diesel.

The 454 in the 84 is a stocker motor with peanut port heads. The Th350 is much more likely to hold up to the OEM 454.

LOL yep so I'm SOL.

I would love to have me a 241c ps drop laying around.

then I can find a chevy front axle 10 bolt or whatever, and some rear leaf springs from a squarebody. Some other assorted chevy front end solid axle parts and make myself a SAS'd 88.

with chevy parts instead of ford stuff.

Ford high-pinion Dana 60 is nothing to sneeze at, perfect for a GMT400 and up SAS. You can lift the **** out of it too and still have great front driveline angle.

True That !!! Ford HP is the way to go, but hold your butt cheeks real tight, cuz you'll get fugged in the ass by big bubba to have one.

BTW, NP208 are fairly easy to find. About latteral to a 241c. The 241c has a hair deeper crawl ratio but nothing worth passing up a good 208 that can be had cheap. I have a spare 208 too.

yea but 208 doesn't have VSS and is needed to keep my speedo working in my 88.

As for ford, exactly why I don't want ford parts, it'd be cheaper to buy an entire truck and use the front end and parts then to buy the axle.

Neither does this NP241C that I got out of the 87 Burb Grasshoppa !!! NP241C can come with or without VSS for the speedo. 87 is the original analog speedo.
