Its late and im tired, i have spent countless hours the past few days reading pretty much everything on this site and others trying to come up with the best set up for my suburban. So far i have figured out that my rear end is a 14 bolt sf 9.5" with 3.73 gears (GT4 on the RPO sticker thanks to Retros thread a while back). The front is a 10 bolt and I don know the ring size. The motor going into it eventually is going to be a rebuilt 454 with 540-600HP and close to equal torque. I will have the TH400 rebuilt with a kit from Monster Transmission, and will more than likely buy a rebuilt NP208 from them as well. I will be running 37' tires. It wont be an off-road truck (at least not much and nothing extreme) but more off a dd and show truck. Im thinking i should go to 4.11 or 4.56 gears, and i would like to have limited slip in the front and rear. Any part #'s and suppliers will be much appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Oh and while im thinking about it (again) should i go with the 4L80E instead of the TH400. i have been leaning away from it cuz i haven't found a definite answer if my NP208 will bolt up to it. I guess i could call Monster Transmission and find out or see if i bought both from them if the could do whats necessary to make them bolt up. Thanks again.
