Out with the old, and in with the Old as the newest Mod !!!

As many might have noticed, our good old buddy 89Suburban retired as mod recently. To fill them big shoes, Old77 has been chosen.

Jacob has been here from the very start of GMSB, and also has experience with the Mod and Admin tools since he's Mod and Admin on other Fully Driven Forums.

He's usually able to help out during the weekday daytime hours unlike some of the other staff. Hopefullly now, we'll have better coverage and quicker response time around the clock. Not like it was ever a big problem, but nothing wrong with good even better yet !!!

It makes me sad that 89S has been so caught up with things lately, but like you were saying the other day, @HotRodPC, I hope he finds the time to come back and hang out. Old77 is great. It's guys like you, those two, and other pivotal members that get a place like this off the ground by pouring informative and interesting content into the site and building good rapport with its members. That's the difference between some dog and pony forum out there and GMSB.

That's the whole idea. To set us apart from the rest. Some aren't thick skinned enough to tolerate some of our off color antics, but that's what helps keep it live and fun all while still accomplishing the ultimate goal of talking, learning, building and repairing GM Squarebodies. For the few who can't tolerate the antics, they're the ones missing out on a wealth of info. We do try to keep the Write Up and Build Threads on point and on topic, and all the fun in other threads and in other categories. We are a squarebody forum, but anything can be discussed though we highly discourage political and religious discussions. Discuss it if you wish, but again, it's discouraged. We all prefer to be friends and avoid disagreements that tend to get heated and someone ends up with a bad case of butt hurt that even the best butt hurt cream won't heal.

Someone needs to dust off the ban hammer. It doesn't get used very much at all around here. Thankfully we've steered a great group of members to participate here and even the staff here as well as most of the daily members leave their arrogance at the front door before coming in here. Unlike that other 73-87 forum with corn cobs in their asses, we rarely have to ban members. Go ahead and warm up the old hammer and put him in time out for a minute.

Oh wait, I don't think you need any practice with the mod tools. I'm sure you know exactly where they're all at and how to use them when needed.

Never know, Lee was up there in the short list of consideration too. You edged him out by having experience already and being available during weekday daytime hours.

If and when one of the other 2 might wanna retire, or the forum grows enough to justify adding another mod, Lee might be the one now that he actually has a square. You realize some of our great heavy hitters have sold their squares and moved on. animal has pretty much been here too since the beginning IIRC.

Yes, we feel the same way. He also contributed some awesome write ups with pics and vids. He'll be around from time to time I'm sure. Coming into boating season, maybe not anytime soon, but he'll be back. If for nothing else, to make me relive stepping in dog **** mowing the lawn and having it squish up between my toes.

Hopefully @89Suburban is happy with his replacement. Of course we wish him the best at his job that he gives 110% daily and guiding his young adult(s) to be, daughters into adulthood. We certainly don't fault a guy for making his job and family first and foremost.
