I'm planning on replacing the oil pan gasket on my 88 Suburban. Checking Rock Auto, there are 1 piece gaskets from Fel Pro which seem to be a favorite. However, a search of YouTube shows that they aren't always a good fit to the pan on each side of the radiused areas at the ends. I see an AC Delco OEM 1 piece is offered but it's $60 where the Fel Pro is much less.

Are the Fel Pro's okay despite what appears to be a slight fit issue? What do you guys use? I'd rather do this only once, haha.

TIA

Joe

Did the factory even use a gasket in '88? It could all be glued together with silicone.

Starting in '86, it was a 1-peice gasket to begin with. I've used many Felpro and also Victor Reinz and they always fit well.
