Oil Change

Say folks what weight oil do you use in your '85 305 55,000 miles Square body and how often do you change it

I dont have a 305, but if I did, I would run 10w-30 in it, and change it every 3000 miles. Mine has a 383 and I run 20w-50 in it because thats what I put in it and it doesn't get driven enough to need an oil change yet, and it gets pretty hot around here in the summer. I may try some 10w 30 or 10w 40 next time.

10-30 or 10-40 is fine with a zinc additive or use classic car oil with high zinc. Some diesel oil also has zinc in 15-40. Right now, with all the shortages may not be able to be too selective.

The rule of thumb is 3k or 3 months.
