New Truck TBI Diag 1987

New to me truck purchased in a non running condition (1987 v2500 5.7 tbi) . Working my way through the electrical to hopefully get the tbi to fire. Fires on starting fluid and i was informed by the PO it wasn't getting fuel. New Tank New Pump Which I have yet to wire back up. But for starters I wasn't getting any check engine light.... Checked for main power and ground at ecm ended up having to repair ground at thermostat. Figured I was getting somewhere but still no light. Im going to pull the cluster tomorrow but... I reached up behind and pulled the bulb. Tested the bulb, bulb in working condition. Put it back in and now I get a solid "choke" light at the bottom right of the speedometer. I assume that this should be my mil but I'm uncertain? Jumping the aldl on AB gives a single blink then its out. Simply trying to rule some stuff out as I go.

lmao sorry I'm not the most literate individual. Is my choke light my cel and is it normal to only get a single blink?

Did you put the bulb into the wrong hole. TBI trucks do not have a choke.

My 1987 GMC has a Check Engine Light. I think it says Service Engine Soon

If you have no Check Engine light with the key on engine off. You have an issue. Need to resolve that before you can get it to run.

I was reachng behind the dash blindly so its a possibility. Its at the bottom right of the speedometer. I assumed it may have been a first year tbi thing. Only felt the one bulb but who knows. I guess I'll pull it and see figured someone might have insight. I'll back probe a5 at the pcm if necessary thanks.
