Was looking to put a set of the new 20" GMC takeoffs on my 79 swb. I've seen before where others have swapped to 6 lug. Was really wanting to not use adapters/spacers, but thinking that this is the most reasonable option. Anyone have experience either way? Any other options? Thank you

I don't recommend any adapter that is 2-piece, which 5 to 6 lug adapters probably are. Even with a rotor and axle shaft swap to 6-lug, you would still need spacers to make up for the added backspacing of the newer wheels. IMO, it's an awful lot of expense to go to, just to run factory wheels that you see on newer trucks everyday.
