Thanks Guys!
A little more intro, I grew up with a Square Body in the family but it must have been when I was quite young cause I only remember the interior of these trucks. It feels like home.
I've seen these on TV for a long time and that has helped shape my obsession. I have a 2000 Silverado w 5.3L and I really like that truck but it's falling apart from the rust and it's only a 2wd so I'm either gonna pull the LS for another project down the road...I was all set to get more into the LS motors but I had also bought a '67 C10 basket case that needs a lot of metalwork and that has a 283 and I simply admire old school more....in the back of my head I've always wanted a big block. The Silverado is quite comfortable and a fun truck, but DAMN when I got into this K30, like I said it just felt like home. I LOVED the way it rode and the big block is just ****.
I've been wanting a K30 for at least a couple years, and I found this one and just had to have it. The guy I bought it from had hired a shop to do the rockers and they did a terrible job, that's why he wanted to sell. So the rust has been fixed but the panels aren't that straight, but I don't care...I can either correct it later or work around it. I'm just tired of rust, i'm glad the frame is thick enough to resist such damage.
I will be posting pics here on whatever I do to it. Right now the focus is to sort things out, clean and paint the interior and get the taillights working.
This truck was built in Canada, I hate to admit lol, looks like Ste Therese from the 2 in the VIN. Anyway, i'll try to put that out of my head...I can't find the RPO codes...F$&%king Canadians just slapped it anywhere they pleased I hear. So, I'll have to dig for it.
But I do know it's got the goods, Dana60 in front and Corporate 14bolt, 10.5 Full Floater in the rear...should be an NP205 but I didn't get a chance today to look to be sure. It has had some cam work and a few other niceties...the PO said this truck was optioned out with just about everything. If anyone is interested i'll try to take some specific pics.
Anyway, Thanks for the Welcome and I look forward to participating. Here's a quick video of the nice idle.
