I just stumbled across this site while googling pics of 73-87 trucks. My name is Geoff. I am a body shop estimator/ assistant manager at a Toyota,Scion, Crylser Dodge jeep dealer. I am currently building an 84 swb 1/2 ton 2wd. I have posted pics of my frankentruck build up until now and look forward to becoming a helpfull member of this board!

Welcome to GMSB Geoff. I seen those pics of Frankentruck. Not bad, you ended up with a rust free project. So I'd imagine you probably have a good connection for getting it painted huh???

thanks! I am still going through the computer finding and adding pics. Is there a way to re-arrange my album pics to put them in order? yeah the body and paint are next... it looks like a real turd now! the only thing I used off the truck body wise was the cowl lol. I dont mind fixing dents but didnt want to do rust repair because rust almost always comes back. I am going to go with code 21 light blue. I plan to shave the mirrors and stake pockets and keep everything else on the outside original with all the trim and moldings

My dad put his 76 together the same way, its a franken truck. Im excited to see the blue, I want to do mine back to the original metallic looking blue down the road.

Just a warning about the mirrors, we make fun of everyone who does not have paddle mirrors

paddle mirrors? well one door has a power mirror from a suburban and the other is a dumbo.

Dumbo = Paddle Mirrors. Most of the MEN around here like the Dumbos, but there are a couple little boys on the site too.

I've never put an album to see if there is a way to organize them. Maybe I oughta do that and see if I can figure it out. You could always do you an Under construction thread, and start with your older pics, and document your changes and newer pics with each post. Kinda cool to see these trucks evolve from start to finish in the Under Construction category.
