Hey, My name is dustin, my uncle gave me the nickname dirt early on in life so either of those work. I am a union pipe fitting apprentice out of L.U. 42 Norwalk, Oh. I Have a 74 chevy k-10 Auto. I call it frankentruck because everytime i go to fix something, i find a part that came from a different truck. That is what has actually led me here. My trans quit on me saturday. I have up to 20mph and then it s like it slips out of gear and revs to the moon. Upon further investigation i found the truck has a 700r4 and np208 tranfercase. The trans does not have a plug ran to it for the lock out and i dont know what else it has wrong lol. I am now going to throw a th350 in it and need to know if there are different size out put shafts for the 4x4 th350 trans I know there are for the 2wd. Can anyone help a newby out. This is also my first full size and first 4x4 truck.

Howdy neighbor!

BTW, a TH350 isn't a direct swap unless you get an '81 and newer 4x4 version or use a short tail car version with a spacer. Unless you are willing to swap t-cases too.

I am willing to change the t-case if needed, but i did just get a th350 from a 70 chevelle should be the shorty but wont know til i go pick it up. I have been reading all night on this hoping to get it right, lol, I can definitely use all the help and advice i can get.
