Came across this forum tonight while researching some things I would like to do on my '81 C1500 GMC and decided I would join up.
My name is Skip and I have about 35 years experience as a mechanic. For the last 10 years my day job has been restoring and customizing Corvettes.
I grew up with early square bodies when they were new in the '70s and always liked them. Got the '81 I have now in a deal trading labor to install an engine in an El Camino for a guy. Got the truck running and started driving it. That was 4 or 5 years ago and now it's time to tear it down and do it some justice.
I love this old truck.
So here I am gleaning information and ideas for my square body project.
