I'm jake from Nebraska. I have 83 C10 with a modified 305. It's bored .040 over, has timing gears, summit racing cam, summit racing aluminum intake, 600 CFM Edelbrock carb, NGK V-power spark plugs, Accel spark plug wires. Summit racing headers. It has a 700R4 transmission. I've had this truck for 5 years. Rebuilt it while I was in college for diesel technology. Fine tuned it and got it to run right last spring. I rushed my work and it leaked and burned oil. No leaks now. Hoping this fall or winter I can swap out the trans for a manual. And lower it too.

Welcome to GMSB Jake. Sounds like a nice truck. We're pic ****** here, so be prepared to at least post a few pics. GMSB does have pic hosting space so long as it's for forum use.

So what made you put time and money into a Wee O Five instead of finding a 350 block to build? You know a 350 rebuild kit even costs less than a 305 kit. Obviously due to popularity and mass production.

What manual trans are you intending to convert to? Hydraulic or Manual Z bar linkage clutch???

I plan on going with a Z bar set up. Much better in my opinion and I really didn't have the time to get a 350 to put in this truck plus I like to be unique. I would really like to get a diesel truck but things aren't panning out to what I thought they would after graduating college. This weekend I am getting rid of my accord project car so I can start on the body work on my truck. Think a nice restomod build. Some restored parts and some mods. In the future I am planing on swapping in a LS6 in to it. Lay frame with an air ride system. But for now lower it with drop spindles and hanger/shackles. 2 1/2" front 4". rear. I have a lot of ideas and plans for this truck so you never know what I am up too lol.

I really appreciate the fact you did work to a 305, I think the underdog motor is great.

It feels good that someone appreciates something I did.

How sweet. I smell a Bromance starting to happen here. :love62:

Everyone here would appreciate you putting your truck together, keeping it road ready etc. They might not agree with some of the choices, BUT, most around here are big enough to realize it your truck, your work, your choice so rock with it as you please. At least up until you cross the line and disgrace the truck which you've not done.

Just keep on doing do what you do. :waytogo:

I have a friend that lives there, actually 2. They are girls I grew up with in the hood in So Cali. One of them isn't to happy with living in Nebraska. She refers to them as Corn Holers. I did go up there and spent the weekend with one of them. Maybe that was just her way of saying she wanted it in the ass. Obviously it wasn't all that cuz I haven't found my way back to tap it again.
