Hey guys, I need fenders for my 1981 C10 and wondering how the reproduction parts stand up to the originals? Do they line up and look right or are they a project in their own to get put on and lined up? Are they good quality??

I’d like to hear from the guys that have done this job and would like to know if some replacement parts from different vendors are better or worse then others.

thanks

Back when I did bodywork for an actual living, all the aftermarket fenders for our trucks came from the same origins. That may be different now.

The fit and quality of them depends on how picky you are. The '81-up style usually fit pretty good, as a whole. The '73-'80 variety were a very poor fit compared to the originals. They also would sometimes pop welds and develop stress cracks at the backside mounting points.

Not sure where they are coming from.... I hear China and the Philippines.... I hear they are making new fleet side bed panels now too.
I had a body guy tell me today that with repro sheet metal the color of the primer means everything..... if it’s flat black it’s junk... if it’s shiny black then it’s ok
