Ok I`ll try to keep this simple, 85 GMC SWB 700R4 with 10 bolt. Has a 1 piece driveshaft. Trans is shot. Was given a free short shaft TH350. What length drive shaft do I need? I`ve searched and get conflicting numbers. I know the 9" long tail shaft th350 is the same length at the 700R4 and the short shaft th350 has a 6" tailshaft so the difference is 3". I need a 3" longer driveshaft I guess but can anyone tell me how long mine is supposed to be? I know I know, go measure it. But the truck is lowered and Im to fat to crawl under it and my jack and stands are in storage. Need to get this fixed so I can drive to work on Monday. Thanks guys.
