Picked up an 88 GMC R2500 crew 2wd 350 tbi for $200. Drove it home with a battery and a rotor button. Ive already put a set of LT265/75 r16 E's on it. Ive gone ahead and changed the cap, rotor, plugs and oil. Removed the a/c as it was no good anymore. The truck is a solid piece. Needs quite a bit of cab rust repair in the floors and jambs, but i just got one of those harbor freight mig welders for christmas sooo. Its a project, but ive got time.

Welcome! Not sure if you have welded much, but I picked up a harbor frieght welder at least 5 if not more years ago. I'm not really a great fabricator, but I've welded plenty at the shop on welders that cost many times what the HF unit costs. All I can say is they are awesome units for what they are. The wire supplied however is not the best and oddly the wire they sell in the store is over priced. Go to a hardware store and pick up some lincoln or other high quality wire of the correct size and type, and it will weld very, very good. My other old car is 77 Cadillac hearse and I rebuilt the roof on that thing and the windshield channels, my only welder was the HF unit and it went great, welding wise at least.
