You can reuse all the TBI stuff, but you do need the 454 throttle body and injectors. The 454 TB uses a different plug for the IAC valve, so you will need to wire that in (4 wires) or buy an adapter harness. The 454 TB also doesn't have a spot on the linkage for a TV cable/kickdown cable if you have a 700R4 or a TH350, so you will have to add it if you need one.

The 350 tbi is 450 cfm.
the swap can be done, but you will only be able to re use the computer, harness, and distributor. You will need to re-chip the computer for the 454 , you can get that on ebay for $25.
You will need 454 specific knock sensore and module, and of course, a 454 throttle body which has 2" bores and as opposed to the 1 11/16 bores.
Also, while shopping for the 454 throttle body, you need a unit from 87 to 93. the 94-95 units used smaller injectors, with a higher volume Multiport injection style fuel pump.

What was the purpose in that?

Have not figured that one out...i do know that they used the same injectors a 4.3 used, but with the higher pressure, they turned out to be about 70pph, as opposed to 45pph with 13psi.
