As I am preparing to do my first clutch I have a few questions

I read the sticky about the clutch job and got that out of the way but...

I ordered a LUK brand clutch kit a year or two ago when I initially took my truck apart to swap the cab

Is the LUK kit bad? any negative experiences?

also the new pressure plate has allot of splines vs the old 3 prong (borg&beck?) the old pressure plate looks to be ok, would you recommend using that one with the new friction disk?

Anything else I should be doing while I'm in there or things not included in the kit that i need to order?

1978 3/4 ton, 4x4, sm465, 350 mild cam, 205transfer case, 33"tires, Frequent towing of my enclosed single car hauler/ various small equipment, 4.10 gears... info in case helpful

Thanks
Robert

I second the pilot bushing, throwout bearing and seal. It sucks taking it apart again for something small

Use the new clutch and pressure plate. Should hold just fine and you should have a little decrease in pedal effort.

...holding power was my big concern, I remembered hearing a long time ago that the 3 prong had a much heavier pedal but didn't know if that equated to better holding power

You know the trick to change that pilot bushing right? Also assuming you have an alignment tool?
