I notice that the flash point of power steering fluid is higher than atf. Which makes me wonder why a version of power steering fluid (hydraulic oil) isn't used in transmissions, from a flash point perspective?

Unfortunately for me, this is the level of questions my head rolls around in.

Kinda like when the dog is rolling all over something stinky in a bog.

My head does something similar, I can relate. Then I come home and see the family and forget all about those thoughts………..until I lay down to try and sleep. Then I’m screwed lol

I'm having a similar situation. New redhead gear and the pump can't keep up when it gets hot. I just so happen to have a hydroboost pump sitting in my shop from a 97 454... so I think that will be the next step. I'll just pull it down and swap the pumps over between the two bodies.

Yep, same thing over here on the other side of the mountains. Back to the 80's next week :)

Glad I got my AC fixed on the square. Just driving around town and she leaves quite the puddle of condensation under the truck, but its nice and cool inside! Now I just need to be back to being able to turn into parking spots with two fingers instead of it switching between no effort and Hercules every few seconds.

Every county in Oregon except Lincoln, is under some level of heat warning/fire danger today. That seems unusual, but it's August, so.... there are a lot of new heat records today.

PS systems statewide are suffering

Swapping my pump to a new pump (hydroboost unit) fixed my steering dilemma’s. I also installed a cooler I had from a GM800 that was laying around. It’s the little things that count :)
