Hey all,
I'm looking for a long bed for my 86 K30 Custom Deluxe. I want to find a year and model correct for it. If anyone around me has one let me know. I want a rust free (or mostly) fleetside. Also what lets you know what tailgate went with what model? I have seen multiple different ones in the same year.

Make sure you get one off an '85 or newer as the fuel filler necks are different. OR you will have to take the filler neck assemblies off your donor pre-'85 so they will mount properly to the bed.

If you happen to be passing through Reno, I have a good condition rust free pre-'85 bed that I have been using since converting to SRW. It needs some work to make it perfect but it's a good bed. I found a brand new '86 bed that was a take-off of a truck when it was brand new so I'll be swapping that gem on when I'm ready for paint...

You can buy all the bed parts separate.

Sure can for about 1k! or I can drive to a no rust belt state and snag one for a couple hundred bucks! I'll take option 2 cuz I get to see places I've never been along the way!

Be sure to let everyone know if you do something like that. We could use a parts run from the NorthEast to the Midwest. And I bet you can pick some stuff up here and take it back with you to pass out to those guys. We really do need to figure out a way to move big parts. Beds, Cabs, Axles etc. Some kind of relay or what ever, where members are meeting half way, in one direction, then next time meet someone going the other direction.

Good idea, but you need to find you a bed that's wiped out in the side or something for dirt cheap. It would be a crime to cut up a bed in that good of shape for a sofa. :imo:
