I'm considering either the Dakota Digital or Classic Instruments gauge cluster for my 1973 K10 Cheyenne.

I'm open to other options as well. Just curious to see photos of those who have installed different gauges in their C10 / K10 trucks.

Lets see what you've got!

I like that! Is that the Dakota Digital? If so, how difficult was it to install? Did you have to install new sending units or did it use the existing ones?

@WranglerTJForum it seems obvious, but I've got to ask - is WranglerTJForum yours? I'm a member there also (user = "John S") but not active because my wife doesn't want me to make anymore changes to her Jeep. :banghead: :Big Laugh:

Yep, I'm the admin over at Wrangler TJ Forum ;)

I'm also a big Chevy square body fan.

i did Dakota Digital vhx with New Vintage snap adapt so I don't have to cut original harness

I dig it! So this was plug-and-play with the snap adapter? You were able to utilize all your factory gauge sending units and what not?

Basically plug and play, but I used the dakota digital sending units for temp and oil, ran cable to coil for tach. I have a 90 burb so I was lucky the speedometer was already electric and just ran VSS signal wire to speed port on dakota digital

Okay, so a pretty easy install more-or-less.

I've been looking at the Dakota Digital units. This may be the way to go. It's either this or Classic Instruments.

I have to admit, those Dakota Digital GRFX gauges are tempting!

Dakota vhx's. Super easy install. Plug and play their senders, then a couple things like high beam indicator and 4wd indicator have to be wired in.

Use wire ferrules and crimpers to do a clean and easy job of wiring the brain box.

I chose to leave the OEM instrumentation of my M1028 CUCV stock with the idiot lights and instead designed, fabricated, & installed a custom gauge panel.
